About Resilient Youth Parliament
A platform for youth empowerment and countering violent extremism

Our Vision
To create a generation of resilient youth leaders who can effectively counter extremist narratives and promote peace in their communities.

Our Mission
To provide youth with the platform, skills, and knowledge necessary to raise their voices against violence and extremism.

Our Values
Inclusivity, respect, resilience, critical thinking, and community engagement guide all our initiatives.
Our Background
The Resilient Youth Parliament is a project implemented by City University Peshawar, funded by the European Union and in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) of Pakistan.
This initiative was born from the recognition that youth are both particularly vulnerable to extremist ideologies and powerful agents for positive change in their communities. By providing a structured platform for dialogue, learning, and action, we aim to harness the energy and creativity of young people to build more resilient and peaceful communities.
Our approach is multifaceted, combining educational components, capacity-building workshops, community projects, and policy dialogue to ensure that youth are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to make meaningful contributions to countering violent extremism.
Our Objectives
- Empower Youth Voices: Create safe spaces for youth to express their perspectives on issues related to violent extremism and peacebuilding.
- Build Leadership Skills: Develop the capacity of young people to initiate and lead community projects that promote peace and resilience.
- Promote Critical Thinking: Enhance the ability of youth to analyze and critically evaluate extremist narratives and propaganda.
- Facilitate Dialogue: Create platforms for constructive dialogue between youth, community leaders, and policy makers.
- Implement Community Actions: Support youth-led initiatives that address factors contributing to violent extremism at the community level.
